Here are some good habits you can incorporate into your daily routine to become one step closer to your goals.

Sleep more

To function properly, an average adult should get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Most of us neglect this basic need because we try to do as much as we can while awake. However, without sleep, the mind and body will become less alert, unproductive, and uncreative during the day. A good way to make this work is to set a certain time to sleep so your body can naturally follow a sleeping pattern at that time.

Wake up early

Getting up earlier allows you to do more during the day instead of fitting everything at night. In fact, a study conducted by Texas University found that students who woke up early had better test scores and overall grades than those who slept in. Getting a head start eliminates the need to rush in the morning. You can also choose to savour a slow hassle-free morning. If you set a time to sleep at night, your body will naturally wake up to the right time. Stop hitting that snooze button!

Make a to-do list

Knowing your tasks for the day helps you properly prioritize where you need to put your focus for the day and schedule your day. Simply making a list in the morning is one of the good habits that can help you focus and move to each task quicker. Make this a part of your daily routine and see yourself accomplish task after task each day.

Continuously fill up your mind with the latest news and trends to be up-to-date with what’s around you. Or you could finally finish that book you haven’t touching for a year now. Reading is fundamental to improve comprehension, memory, focus, imagination, and creativity. A study published by the journal Neurology found that people who engage in mentally stimulating activities, like reading, lower mental decline by 32%. Take time to read an article or a book while on a commute, during your office break, or while resting at home.

Write a Journal

Not only does this help you improve your writing and communication skills, but it is also a form of emotional and psychological healing. Whether it’s a diary or bullet journaling, being in tune with your thoughts can help know yourself better and set your goals.

Cut down on junk

This not only includes unhealthy food but also vices like smoking and drinking. Doing it now will lessen or prevent the development of illnesses in the long run. Not only should you start good habits, but you should also avoid bad ones.Start to avoid these bad habits by making a list of what not to eat for the week or for the month, or simply drop it all together.

Get Physical

Strictly Save

Start to keep track of your expenses and save for your needs and wants. It’s also never too early to start saving for your retirement. By budgeting, you can effectively prioritize what to spend on like bills and food and hold back spending too much on secondary needs like clothing and luxuries. You can also find alternative ways to reduce costs.

Put your phone down

When was the last time you saw your old best friend? Or listened to your family member’s troubles? You may be Facebook friends, but nothing beats a well spent face-to-face conversation. Spend less time socializing online, and build lasting relationships with your friends and family offline.
